One Crazy Christmas: The Warning Signs

Dec 18, 2022    Pastor BJ Thelander

There are times in our lives where it takes more than one attempt to get our attention. Sometimes we have to hear the same message in multiple ways in order to really grasp what we are to listen and be aware of, and then respond and do something with the message.

The shepherds were greeted by an angel with good news. This message of good news was then intensified by an army of angels proclaiming the message. Finally, the shepherds knew they were to proclaim the Good News with GREAT JOY! Just like the shepherds in the first Christmas story, we must heed the messages, and then respond in obedience; no matter how crazy the season may be!

GROUP QUESTIONS:

1.) Re-read the story of the shepherds (Luke 2:8-20). Talk about your initial thoughts on how the communication with the shepherds took place, and how that compares to how we hear from God today.

2.) What messages has God been trying to get to you?

3.) Have you ignored, or not believed the alarms, and therefore not responded to what God is asking you to do?

4.) Who can you share the GOOD NEWS of Jesus Christ with?

5.) Will you share this Good News with GREAT JOY? Why does our “great joy” matter when sharing this information?

6.) End your time together by praying about who you can share your Good News with, and how you are going to respond with these alarms for the sake of Jesus Christ.
