One Crazy Christmas: Leaning In To Interruptions
As life moves along, God interrupts things with a plan that is much better than anything we could imagine or ask. Many times, we are afraid to embrace these interruptions because of fear of the unknown or our own insecurities that might get in the way. Today, we will look at the process that Mary went through as she leaned into the interruption that God placed in her life. Let's lean into divine interruptions! God's plans are greater than ours!
Group Questions
1. Read Luke 1:29-56. Talk about some common things you already know about Mary and her story.
2. What does it mean for God to 'find favor' with someone? Do a quick glance online or in your Bible's concordance to conclude what biblical favor means and why Mary was the recipient of that favor. What does the favor of God mean for each of us?
3. When Mary embraced the journey, she then went to visit Elizabeth for three months. What benefits do our close friends have when we are facing tough decisions, confusing times, or need prayer? How is that friend to you?
4. Mary's final step in her process was to sing to God. Choose which verses are worship to God and which ones are direct opposition to Herod and his reign. Why does her prayer include both?
5. Have you ever heard of quiet quitting? What is the last thing you have quietly quit and where did you find the passion to continue?
6. End your time by praying for one another and keeping one another accountable throughout the week.
