David was a man after God's own heart despite his failures. How can we become someone after God's heart? We will find ourselves deep in the stories of David and learn how to strengthen our walk with God with each one. Today is an overview of David and his pursuit of God, his humble beginnings, and several other lessons that will help us step closer to God.  

Life Group Questions

1. Begin by catching up with one another and offering prayer for the blessings and concerns within the group.

2. What lessons can you remember about King David's life? What other things about David have you remembered?

3. Break up into groups and talk about the four lessons mentioned in the sermon: God sees potential in the ordinary, preparation precedes promotion, character matters more than appearance, God's presence makes all the difference.  

4. End by reading Psalm 23 out loud together as a group.
