Parents Night Out is designed to give parents (or acting parents) a well-deserved break. Take a nap, see a movie, go out with friends, shop for groceries alone, whatever—YOU DESERVE IT! Childcare is provided from 6:00-9:30pm in the children's wing. Grade school kids eat pizza, watch a movie, play in Scotty's Playhouse and participate in other activities. Preschool kids participate in a similar program. Childcare is provided for infants and toddlers, as well.  RSVP required. To register for the February 12th PNO, click here.* Participating parents are asked to serve at least one Parents Night Out per year.
** As of January 2010, a $5 per family fee is charged for each Parents Night Out to offset the growing costs of food, activities and other expenses. It is likely that this cost will increase again soon or that Parents Night Out will be postponed until fall 2010.

Focus on the Family's site has a surplus of helpful information for adults, teens and children. The main page gives quick access to other helpful Focus on the Family websites. Family Life has helpful articles on marriage, parenting, singles and other important life issues as well as available daily email devtions, parenting tips and romantic ideas. Plugged In offers reviews on movies, music and television shows listing both positive and negative aspects. The search tool offers quick reference to any group, CD, movie, show, etc. kids-in-mind offers movie reviews including a synopsis of the story line as well as a listing of questionable content. It also offers what is thought to be the main message of the movie and gives discussion topics for parents. |
